Create movement breaks. Set up an indoor obstacle course with pillows, tape lines to jump over, or a "dance party" playlist. Even 10 minutes of movement can shift everyone's mood. |

Rotate toys. When you bring them back out, they'll feel new again, and the reduced clutter can help everyone feel calmer. Embrace the mess (temporarily). Sensory play with dried beans, water tables, playdough, or even shaving cream can keep little hands busy and minds engaged for longer stretches. Lower your expectations. Some days, survival mode is perfectly okay. Screen time, take-out food, and earlier bedtimes are all valid tools in your parenting toolkit. |

Get outside anyway. Brief outdoor adventures—even just 15 minutes—can work wonders. Bundle up and explore your neighborhood in all it’s winter glory. Remember: Spring is coming. You're doing an amazing job, hang in there! |

My Inspiration: “It really resonates with me that the early years are so critical. Supporting children and families at this stage feels important to helping children get a solid foundation. Helping a parent feel empowered to support their child is pretty cool.” What I wish more people understood about early intervention and play therapy: “Play is powerful and it does not have to be elaborate or planned or educational to be important.” Favorite childhood book or toy: “My favorite book was Goodnight Moon and my favorite toy was a large fabric carrot that unzipped and inside was a family of stuffed bunnies.” Is there a concern you would like to talk to Sarah about?
