Occupational & Physical Therapy

Therapy that feels like play — because it is!

Available without a referral, in Northern Virginia:

  • In-home

  • In the community

  • At our play center

Every child deserves to move through their world with confidence — to communicate, climb, hold a crayon, get dressed, use the potty, eat a meal, and play alongside their friends without it feeling like a struggle. When a child faces challenges with movement, coordination, sensory processing, or daily skills like feeding and self-care, occupational and physical therapy can open the door to a childhood filled with more ease, more independence, and more joy.

Our PT and OT Services are:

Collaborative and Holistic

Our therapists don't work alone — they work as part of a collaborative team that includes our counselors, early learning specialists, and family coaches.

That means your child's physical and occupational therapy goals are considered alongside their emotional, developmental, and family needs, not in isolation.

When our therapists communicate and coordinate care, your child gets a truly holistic approach — one where every part of their growth is supported by a team that talks to each other, not just to you.

Available On-site

For physical and occupational therapy especially, where a session happens matters. That's why we offer concierge therapy — bringing PT and OT support directly into your child's natural environments, like home, school, daycare or even the community pool.‍ ‍

This means we get to see the actual stairs your child struggles to climb, the classroom chair they can't quite settle into, the mealtime that's become a daily battle, or the playground equipment they avoid.

Rather than working on skills in isolation, we observe and assist children in the real moments where they're struggling — and coach the caregivers and teachers who support them every day.

Play-based

Children ages 0-8 learn and grow best through play — it's how they understand the world, build skills, and feel safe enough to try, fail, and try again.

That's why every service we offer, including occupational and physical therapy, is grounded in play.

Your child won't just be doing exercises or drills; they'll be climbing, splashing, building, and exploring — and growing stronger, more coordinated, and more confident along the way.

Find Out Which Therapy Is Right for Your Child

Physical Therapy‍ ‍

Pediatric physical therapy helps children move better, with less pain and more confidence — while having fun. A child's world opens up when they can move and play without restriction.

‍ ‍Our physical therapy services help improve:

  • ‍Mobility and development (rolling, crawling, walking)

  • Low or high muscle tone (muscle weakness or stiff muscles)

  • Balance, flexibility, and coordination

  • Strength and endurance

  • Walking difficulties (toe-walking, clubfoot, orthotic use)

  • Postural control and scoliosis

  • Sensory regulation

  • Injury recovery

Our Specialty: Aquatic Physical Therapy

‍In addition to our regular PT services we offer Aquatic Physical Therapy — a specialized, engaging format that's especially effective for young children. In the water, movements that feel impossible on land suddenly become achievable. Fear turns into excitement, effort turns into play, and children build strength and confidence in an environment that feels like fun, not therapy.

Meet our PT, Shannon!

Shannon is a licensed physical therapist with nearly 20 years of experience working with children from birth up. Shannon focuses on how physical development connects to every part of a child's life, from play to self-confidence to social connection. Talk to Shannon about your concerns.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps children succeed in the everyday activities — or "occupations" — that make up their world: playing, learning, eating, dressing, communicating, and simply moving through their day.

Our occupational therapy services include:

  • Infant massage

  • Alternative communication

  • Self-care and independence

  • Potty training

  • Feeding skills, for children facing feeding challenges

Families receive strategies and activities as part of a home program, so progress made in session carries into everyday life. Our goal is simple: to help every child unlock their greatest potential.

Our Specialty: Infant Massage

We're proud to offer infant massage as part of our occupational therapy services — a nurturing, evidence-informed approach that supports bonding, regulation, and early sensory development from the very start of life.

Meet our OT, Tracey!

For more than 30 years, Tracey has worked with children from infancy, supporting them with autism, sensory processing challenges, learning disabilities, motor delays, alternative communication and feeding difficulties. Let Tracey help your little one thrive.
